JetApps is excited to announce the release of JetBackup 5.1.5 to EDGE Tier. These release notes provide a summary of core bug fixes, new features, enhancements to our GUI, and Plugin Updates! Please note that “Base” features and bug fixes apply to all JetBackup versions. Panel Specific features and bug fixes have also been added.

What’s new


JetBackup 5.1.5 (Base):

  • Added a new feature to allow users to set TTL for Backup Forks.
  • Added a new feature that allows admin/root to set Download TTL.
  • Improved notifications by adding server hostname to the notification.
  • Added new CLI commands to manually backup/restore accounts from the terminal.
    • jetbackup5 --pkgacct and jetbackup5 --restorepkg.
    • Run jetbackup5 --help for more info.
  • Added a new feature that will continue backup if one section for an account fails.
    • This will give admin/root access to backups for all completed sections.
  • Improved plugin updates by allowing the repository to auto-update installed plugins.
    • JetBackup will automatically check for plugin updates every 6 hours.
  • Added a new feature that allows you to input a custom value for “Free Disk Space Limit” in “Create New Destination”.
  • Added a new feature that includes the jetbackup.index file in downloaded backups.
  • Standard Security updates with Rack 911 Labs.
    • Rest assured that your backups and information are secure with JetBackup!
  • Added a new feature to apply limits to user downloads.

JetBackup 5.1.5 cPanel:

  • Added checks to see if Email Filters are enabled or disabled for an account before backing up email filters.

JetBackup 5.1.5.1 DirectAdmin:

  • Improved JetBackup ability to detect custom email paths for backups and restores.
  • Secured the API call by using urlencode.

JetBackup 5.1.5 (Base):

  • Fixed an issue where syncing accounts could cause a high load.
  • Fixed an issue creating multiple unnecessary HTTP requests in Log Section.
  • Fixed an issue when backing up accounts while changes were being made.
  • Fixed an issue causing Archived/Compressed Directory Backups to fail.
  • Fixed an issue where reseller/user could not clear the queue in UI despite having permissions.
  • Fixed an issue where the backup job would show completed if there were errors.
  • Fixed an issue allowing root/admin to delete JB Config Schedule through API commands.
  • Fixed an issue not allowing users to queue a restore for active resellers.
  • Fixed an issue causing Never Finished Status on Backup Jobs.
  • Fixed an issue causing the schedule to calculate incorrect Next Run for Backup Jobs.
  • Fixed an issue by changing the order in which account sections get restored.
  • Fixed an issue where you weren’t able to modify Range Account Filters.
  • Fixed an issue that caused a Never Finished log to show as Complete.
  • Fixed an issue by preventing jetbackup from terminating resellers before restoration.
    • No more having to worry about your reseller children getting lost!

JetBackup 5.1.5.1 cPanel:

  • Fixed an issue where restores do not overwrite the current PHP version unless the terminate flag is selected.
  • Fixed an issue where unregistered certificates were causing backups/restores to fail.
  • Fixed an issue that excludes certain directories globally within the backups.

JetBackup 5.1.5.1 DirectAdmin:

  • Fixed an issue where accounts were not being added to CageFS after restore
  • Fixed an issue that left a ghost plugin in Plugin Manager after JetBackup update.
  • Fixed an issue that failed restores of Direct Admin emails on other panels.
  • Fixed an issue by creating symlinks to allow for the restoration of other panel accounts on Directadmin.
  • Enhanced use of the CLI by removing temporary JSON files.
  • Fixed an issue that excludes certain directories globally within the backups.

GUI Updates


  • Added use of jQuery Growl for popups to provide you with a cleaner GUI.
  • Added visual indicator of disabled destinations when creating/modifying backup jobs.
  • Improved UI reloading process.
  • Added a sort feature for Created Date while selecting files in View Backups.
  • Improved quality of logs by adding account names next to status.
  •  Enhanced GUI by making popups sticky on the interface.
  • Improved quality of logs by adding sortable time to complete for each account.
  • Updated settings descriptions for Concurrent Restore/Download/Backup Tasks and Backup Fork TTL
    • Replaces original descriptions for Concurrent Account Restore/Download/Backups.
  • Fixed a GUI bug where Locking/Unlocking multiple backups did not refresh the list of available backups.
  • Fixed a GUI bug in the Repositories search box that caused it to not filter properly.
  • Fixed a GUI bug causing available plugin boxes to be out of place.
  • Added the ability to see snippets of the log for specific accounts in “View Log Summary”.

Plugin Updates


S3 Compatible Plugin v1.0.12:

  • Added a feature to allow specifying an endpoint that includes the region into the field.
  • Added new Wasabi Region under the region selection.

Known Issues


The resolution of these issues is currently in progress!

  • An issue where resellers cannot access orphan account backups.
  • An issue not allowing restore of a user owned by a reseller.
  • Adding the implementation of multipart uploads for S3 Plugin.
  • An issue with restoring PostgreSQL databases on cPanel.
  • An issue where ‘jetbackup’ user causes built-in DA backup to have errors.
  • An issue with JetBackup API flags on the terminal.
